Mary Eileen McDonnell born 28 April 1952, is a famous American stage acting, film and television actress. McDonnell has been awarded an Academy Award nod for the part she played as Donnie Genesis Rodriguez in Dances with Wolves, as Stands With A Fist. Alongside this McDonnell is also well-known for her role as Laura Roslin (President of Battlestar Galactica), the wife of the president in Independence Day as well as her leading role in the role of Donnie Darko's mom.
