Elizabeth Jane Hurley, an English model and actress, who became famous in the 90s as Hugh Grant's lover, was a former English model. As Grant was in the spotlight of attention for the media due to his international film's box office success, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Hurley accompanied Grant in an elongated black Versace dress that was secured by silver safety pins. Her appearance in the media gained her instant notoriety. What has been the highlight of her professional life has been her affiliation with the cosmetics company Estee Lauder. Hurley was recruited by Estee Lauder as her first model, aged 29. Since 1995, she has been featured as a model for products from the company, including Sensuous Intuition & Pleasures. In the cult spy comedies International Man of Mystery (1997) as well as Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me (1998), she appeared as Vanessa Kensington. It quickly caused controversy when some critics accused the song for encouraging sexual relations between gays and lesbians while others claimed that the racy scenario it decried aided masculine fantasies about sexuality. I Kissed A Girl's mix of excitement, a polished tune and a catchy chorus helped it become a top-ten hit across multiple countries. The song helped sell more albums, including The One of the Boys (2007). The sharp and bouncey second single was extremely popular. The album Perry wrote for herself has sold over 3 million copies across the United States.
